Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Drive-Pressure Monitoring
The CHT-19FS is intended to measure the pneumatic drive pressure used to inflate and deflate an intra-aortic balloon. Its flush sensing surface and non-oil-filled construction are important where rapid pneumatic pressure changes must be measured without introducing an oil-filled isolation cavity. The pump controller can use the pressure waveform to supervise operation of the balloon-drive system.
IABP Pneumatic-Circuit Diagnostics
Pressure measurement within the helium-drive circuit can support equipment diagnostics by showing whether commanded inflation and deflation cycles produce the expected pressure response. Changes in waveform shape, peak pressure or pressure decay may help the equipment identify leaks, restrictions or abnormal pneumatic operation. This pressure feedback can support device-level diagnostic and alarm functions for the pneumatic drive system.
IABP Manufacturing and Service Verification
The sensor can be incorporated into manufacturing or service equipment used to verify the pneumatic performance of an intra-aortic balloon pump. Test software can compare measured pressure cycles with defined acceptance limits during assembly, calibration or maintenance. The flush, non-oil-filled sensing architecture supports repeatable evaluation of the rapid pressure cycles used by the IABP pneumatic system.
