Our Commitment to REACH

AV Sensors designs and manufactures pressure sensor products that comply with requirements of the Registration, Evaluation  Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) directive.  This initiative aims is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.

The objective is met through work with our component suppliers to ensure that to the best of our knowledge no AVSensors part numbers, unless otherwise specified, contain substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as listed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) under the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the council concerning REACH per the ECHA 19/12/2011 and previous updates.

If a test report is required for your application, contact AVSensors through our General Inquiries on our Contact page.

The Importance of REACH Compliance

In the contemporary industrial landscape, environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance are paramount. One such vital regulation is REACH.

Understanding REACH Compliance:

REACH, which stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals, is a comprehensive European Union regulation (EC 1907/2006). It aims to safeguard human health and the environment by controlling the use of chemical substances in various products. REACH requires businesses to identify and manage the risks associated with the chemicals they use and to ensure the safe use of these substances.

Why REACH Compliance Matters:

  1. Environmental Responsibility: REACH compliance is a proactive commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of industrial processes. By using REACH compliant sensors, manufacturers actively contribute to the reduction of hazardous chemical emissions and promote sustainable, eco-friendly practices.

  2. Consumer Safety: REACH-compliant sensors prioritize the safety and well-being of consumers. By restricting harmful chemical substances in products, manufacturers ensure that end-users are not exposed to potentially dangerous materials, enhancing product safety.

  3. Global Market Access: While REACH is a European regulation, it has implications beyond Europe. Many global manufacturers and suppliers adopt REACH-compliant standards. Employing REACH compliant sensors ensures market access and facilitates international trade and collaboration.

Benefits of REACH Compliance Sensors:

  1. Reduced Environmental Footprint: REACH-compliant sensors utilize materials that are less harmful to the environment. This aligns with sustainability objectives and contributes to the reduction of chemical pollution and waste.

  2. Enhanced Product Safety: REACH compliance is synonymous with safer products. These sensors are designed with strict chemical safety standards in mind, reducing risks associated with exposure to hazardous substances.

  3. Meeting Regulatory Requirements: Manufacturers and industries across the globe are increasingly regulated by REACH compliance. Choosing REACH-compliant sensors positions your company to meet evolving regulatory demands, staying ahead of compliance challenges.

  4. International Market Accessibility: REACH compliance enables companies to access international markets seamlessly. This expands business opportunities, fosters growth, and enhances competitiveness on a global scale.
