Our Commitment to ROHS

AV Sensors  designs and manufactures pressure sensor products that comply with requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.  The goal of RoHS  is to reduce the environmental effect and health impact of electronics.

The objective is met through work with our component suppliers to ensure that to the best of our knowledge no AVSensors part numbers, unless otherwise specified, contain substances exceeding Maximum Concentration Values per the requirements of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union's "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" Directive citation 2011/65/EU Annex II amending Annex (EU) 2015/863 and amending Annex (EU) 2017/2102.

The Importance & Meaning of RoHS Compliance

What is RoHS Compliance?

RoHS, short for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances, is a European Union directive (Directive 2011/65/EU) aimed at reducing the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. This directive restricts the use of six specific hazardous substances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, and others, in electronic products and components.

Why RoHS Compliance Matters:

  1. Environmental Responsibility: Compliance with RoHS regulations is a proactive step toward reducing the environmental impact of industrial processes. By minimizing the use of hazardous substances, manufacturers contribute to the reduction of toxic waste and the conservation of natural resources.

  2. Global Market Access: RoHS compliance is not limited to the European Union. Many countries and regions around the world have adopted similar regulations or have aligned their standards with RoHS. By using RoHS compliant sensors, your company can ensure market access and ease of distribution across international borders.

  3. Safety and Health: RoHS-compliant sensors are designed with the safety of both consumers and workers in mind. By eliminating hazardous materials from your products, you reduce the risk of exposure to harmful substances, creating a safer working environment and safer products for end-users.

The Benefits of RoHS Compliance Sensors:

  1. Reduced Environmental Impact: RoHS-compliant sensors use materials that are less harmful to the environment. This not only aligns with sustainability goals but also mitigates the long-term environmental costs associated with hazardous materials.

  2. Enhanced Product Reliability: RoHS compliant sensors are often manufactured with higher quality standards, leading to more reliable and durable products. This reliability can significantly reduce maintenance and replacement costs over time.

  3. Meeting Customer Demands: Modern consumers and businesses are increasingly conscious of environmental issues and demand products that meet RoHS compliance standards. Offering RoHS compliant sensors can help your company meet customer expectations and gain a competitive edge.

  4. Global Market Access: As mentioned earlier, RoHS compliance opens doors to international markets. This expands your customer base and business opportunities, driving growth and profitability.
